Garden wood wool is a natural and practical mulching material made from dry pine wood. Thanks to the natural resin content of pine, the fibers are durable and retain their properties well even in outdoor conditions. The material is compressed in the package, but once removed it can be easily fluffed up, creating a light and airy structure that is ideal for placing under plants. One 0.85 kg package covers approximately 1.7 m².

When applied around plants, wood wool forms a protective layer that helps maintain optimal soil moisture levels – it allows rainwater to pass through easily while reducing rapid drying. It is especially suitable for growing strawberries, where a 4–6 cm thick layer is recommended to keep the berries from direct contact with the soil, ensuring they stay clean and are protected from rot without the use of chemicals.

In addition, wood wool helps reduce weed growth by limiting light access to the soil and acts as a natural barrier against slugs, as its rough and dry texture makes movement more difficult for them. After the season, the material can be reused for other crops such as cucumbers or zucchinis, or dried and stored for the next growing cycle.

This product is suitable for use in greenhouses, open garden beds, and planters, providing a simple, effective, and environmentally friendly solution for protecting fruits and vegetables in gardens of any size.
